Frequently asked questions

Can I download Apertura today?

No. The previous test build was withdrawn, and we do not link an unsigned installer. Each platform's download opens on its own once that platform's installer passes signing, real-device installation and upgrade testing, and production-service verification; today both platforms are closed. The status page shows the live state.

What does Apertura cost?

Free is $0. The approved launch shape for Pro is $29 one-time. Developer and Max tiers exist in the entitlement design but are not sold separately and have no announced price. See pricing.

Does Apertura record my screen?

No. Screen context is opt-in and requires your explicit consent. Nothing is captured, recorded, or sent until you ask. Camera preview is local only.

Where does my data go?

Most data stays on your device: clipboard history, notes, screenshots, and Stats history. Activation and relay-assisted AI talk to api.notch-os.com. The privacy policy lists every path.

Does the app include analytics or crash reporting?

No. The macOS and Windows apps include no crash-reporting SDK and no analytics SDK.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS 14.0 or later (Apple silicon in the current candidate) and Windows 10 build 19045 or later (x64 and arm64).

How do updates work?

macOS uses the open-source Sparkle updater and Windows uses electron-updater. Packages are signed and verified before installing.

How many devices can one license use?

The Max entitlement tier has a three-device technical activation cap. Packaging for other tiers has not been announced.
